Iran

Is Iran a threat to Israel or stabilty in the Middle East?

The concern is that Iran is in the final stages of acquiring a nuclear weapon and that they plan to "wipe Israel off the map".

I don't know this for sure, but lets assume a couple things; yes Iran does want a Nuke and yes, Iran doesn't count Israel as one of its bestest buddies. Fair enough.

That said... is it likely that Iran would use this new found weapon aggressively against Israel or anyone else?

A couple of questions should help clear this up.

Q) Is the leadership in Iran willing to sentence all of its citizens to death?
A) While there are certainly radicals willing to commit religious suicide, it is not usually the leaders or the masses who are signing up to be martyrs. After all wasn't Osama Bin Laden found hiding in Pakistan while training other people to kill themselves for Ala? You really think that Ahmadinejad has a death wish? I don't.

Q) Has a sovereign nation ever used a nuclear weapon aggressively against another nation who also possessed "the bomb"?
A) No.

It seems to me to me that having a nuclear weapon is much more a defensive tactic than an offensive one. Consider this, no nation possessing a nuclear weapon has ever been attacked by another sovereign nation. Not with nukes, not with tanks, not with anything. Seems like a pretty good deterrent to me.

I believe

What I wish Ron Paul would say regarding foreign policy. I believe he feels this way and just has not articulated in a way that is palatble to the average american who is "fear mongered" all the time.
----------------------------------------------------------
The world in many ways is a scary place. From dictators, to terrorist organizations to entire foreign governments, America has its enemies and in no way should their presence be diminished.
I believe that the United States of America has and should maintain the greatest national defense on earth. I believe that our military should be used and focused towards; securing our borders, expanding the effectiveness of intelligence and preparing to respond to any actual or imminent attack on this nation. Predominantly we should be defending our soil with soldiers on our soil.
Would I bring our troops home? Absolutely, as soon as the ships can get there. Would I allow our national defense to be compromised? Absolutely NOT!
I believe that thinly spreading our military across the globe does compromise our ability to defend our nation. I believe that fighting terrorists with tanks does compromise our ability to defend our nation.

We should as always be strong, but more than ever we need to be wise.

Open Letter to Democrats

You want an end to the war.
You want an end to nation building.
You want all the troops home and you want it yesterday.

In 2008 you were given hope and you were promised change.

Today, more than 300,000 troops are still deployed overseas.

There are a great many things that you would like President Obama to do that he can not do on his own. Many things that require a more cooperative congress. Many things you wanted him to get done, that frankly he can not.

But he could bring the troops home. He made that promise in 2007. He has that power today, yet war rages on.

You want an end to the war.
You want an end to nation building.
You want all the troops home and you want it yesterday.

Today, more than 300,000 troops are still deployed overseas.

There are a great many things that Ron Paul wants to do (that scare you to death) that that he can not do on his own. Many things that would require a cooperative congress.

Ron Paul is the only person in the race you can trust to bring our troops home. He has been committed to this cause for decades. He would have that power as President; the war machine will grind to a halt.

The things about him you oppose he likely can not accomplish. The thing you love about him, he can and will.

Help your country, register Republican, VOTE RON PAUL 2012!

Cash for Clunkers

Today the President announced a plan to bring back Cash for Clunkers, only this version will increase revenue while also increasing average fuel efficiency. The plan is simple; households that have more than two cars will be required to donate one to the federal government, those cars will be sold by Government Motors at a discount to the "less fortunate" and will be traded to to those folks who have lower fuel efficiency vehicles that we really need to get off the road.

Look, who needs three cars anyway, seems kind of excessive don't you think? Especially when then are so many with none.

Sound absurd? That's good, but it shouldn't.

Sadly, the president DID announce a plan to tax the "wealthiest" more, afterall they have too much money and there are others who just need it more. So if Joe Biden knocks on your door, lookin' for the keys to the Trans Am, don't be surprised.

Your cars are your personal property, the governement has no right to it. Your money is your personal property, the government has no right to it.
